Relaxation and to reduce stress levels.
How to do it:
- Sit or lay comfortably, making sure your stomach can expand with little resistance.
- Now breath in smoothly, the length it takes you to say ‘Elephant’ twice.
- When your lungs are full, pause for the time it takes you to say ‘Elephant’ once.
- Then breath out for 3 ‘elephants’.
- Repeat this sequence 3 to 5 times.
Saying ‘elephant’ gives you a sense of time while breathing, regulating each individual breath.
